About Title I

Battlefield Primary School

What is Title 1? (Check out THIS video to learn more)

Title I is a program that provides additional funding to schools with the ultimate goal to improve student achievement. Title I funding is provided based upon the percentage of students participating in the free and reduced-price lunch program. Title I funds can be used for additional personnel, such as interventionists, technology, and various teaching resources to help meet student needs. Parental input is welcomed and encouraged regarding decisions on how to spend Title I funds.

At Battlefield Primary School we have a full-time Title I Parent Coordinator, Mrs. Cherry Stephenson. Head over to the “Parent and Family Engagement” tab to find out how you can volunteer and get involved at BPS.  Each year, a Parent and Family Engagement plan is created.

Additionally, a family-school compact is created each year. This agreement is signed by school administrators, teachers, parents or guardians, and students. Please click here to view the Parent-Family compacts for the 2022-2023 school year.
